To find the entrance to the Undercroft on your own, you must first navigate to the grand Astronomy Wing of the castle. The absolute easiest way to reach this area is by using the Floo Flame network to teleport directly to the Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom station. From this fast-travel location, you simply need to turn around and walk down the nearby grand staircase.

At the base of the stairs, proceed straight down the long, dimly lit corridor until you reach the very end of the hall. Here, you will find a large, ornate grandfather clock standing against the stone wall. The secret doorway to the room is cleverly hidden directly opposite this clock, disguised as a seamless section of the masonry.

When you approach the specific section of the wall near the grandfather clock, a prompt to enter the room will dynamically appear on your screen.
