The Hippogriff Marks The Spot Hogwarts Legacy Treasure Guide

Hogwarts Legacy is full of hidden quests and treasure maps that lead players to valuable gear and extra rewards. One of the most famous side quests in the game is The Hippogriff Marks The Spot, which begins when you stumble upon a mysterious parchment. Solving this treasure hunt requires visiting ancient ruins, managing elemental spell cubes, and matching a brazier configuration around a statue.
Finding Henrietta's Map in Poidsear Castle
To begin this quest, you need to head toward Poidsear Castle located in the southern region of the world map. Inside a large tent within a bandit camp near the local Floo Flame, you will discover Henrietta's map resting on a table. You can clear out the surrounding enemies or use stealth to retrieve the parchment silently.
Once picked up, the parchment reveals a sketched map featuring a castle ruin, a Hippogriff statue, and specific spell symbols. This parchment acts as your clue to finding the hidden lair in Manor Cape.
Infiltrating Henrietta's Hideaway
The map points directly to Henrietta's Hideaway, situated beneath coastal ruins on the southern tip of the Manor Cape peninsula. Head to the south side of these ruins to locate the secret basement entrance beneath a staircase. Be prepared to either fight or sneak past the Ashwinders guarding the area before stepping inside.
In the first chamber, you will encounter a door locked behind an elemental cube puzzle. You must use Incendio or Confringo to light a brazier on the wall, revealing a second cube that needs to be moved onto its pedestal using Accio or Wingardium Leviosa. Cast Incendio on the fire cube and Glacius on the ice cube to unseal the entrance to the main hall.
Solving the Hippogriff Statue Brazier Puzzle
After defeating the Ashwinders inside the main room, you will stand before a large Hippogriff statue surrounded by eight braziers. The parchment shows an exact diagram of which braziers need to remain lit and which ones must be extinguished. Using Confringo to ignite and Glacius to extinguish, adjust the fires to match the illustration.
If done correctly, a secret wall behind the statue will open to reveal a hidden Collection Chest. Opening this chest awards you experience points and the Treasure-Seeker's Gloves, successfully completing the quest.
